With the determination to wrestle power and share the votes or possibly taking all the votes from the All Progressives Congress and giving them to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Etsako West council area has taken the lead in firmly planting PDP guber candidate, Bar Asue Ighodalo in the hearts and minds of the people ahead of the upcoming September governorship election by inaugurating the Asue Ighodalo Campaign Council.
The inauguration witnessed a massive and unprecedented turnout, signifying the outstanding work done by the PDP leaders in the locality in galvanizing support for the PDP candidate.
The wards chapter of the Campaign Council was inaugurated with great fanfare, bringing the project closer to the grassroots and sparking excitement.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Auchi, the political and commercial capital of Etsako West, attracted the presence of notable PDP chieftains who attended the event not only to lend their support but also to demonstrate the mammoth support candidate Asue Ighodalo enjoys among the Etsako people.
Chief Lucky James, a former Etsako West council chairman was a political ally of Sen Adams Oshiomole before he defected to the PDP, is the Etsako local government coordinator of the Asue Ighodalo Campaign Council.
Chief James used the occasion to instruct the various PDP Ward executives from Auchi, Uzairue, and the South Ibie to go back home and spread the gospel like committed disciples.
He also emphasized that they have been carefully selected on merit to promote the Ighodalo’s candidacy and work for the victory of the party.
There was also a significant presence of Etsako West youths who rejected several overtures from the opposition APC at the event.
In unison, they pledged their support for the Ighodalo/Ogie ticket.
The colourful ceremony later turned into a carnival as the enthusiastic crowd of PDP members and other sympathizers took charge of the proceedings and created a huge ball of excitement.
Engineered by the turn of events, an excited Chief James declared that the Asue Ighodalo’s campaign has gained prominence and anticipated a bountiful harvest of Etsako votes to seal the bond between the people and the PDP candidate.
