The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, has expressed profound gratitude to all those who supported him and his family during his harrowing ordeal in the hands of kidnappers.

Truth Live News reports that Aziegbemi in a statement issued on Thursday, March 28, 2024, personally signed by him, extended his appreciation to various individuals and entities that rallied behind him during his captivity.

In his statement, Dr. Aziegbemi began by expressing his gratitude to God Almighty for his safe return, stating, “First and foremost, I want to give thanks and glory to God Almighty for bringing me back alive and safe from the kidnappers’ den. Throughout my ordeal, my solace was in the knowledge that God was with me. That knowledge kept my hope and confidence alive.”

The PDP Chairman also acknowledged the unwavering support of Governor Godwin Obaseki, highlighting the Governor’s tireless efforts throughout the ten days of his captivity. He also extended his appreciation to security agencies, political leaders, religious leaders, members of the public, and royal fathers for their prayers and support.

Dr. Aziegbemi emphasized the unity among Edolites, transcending political, religious, and tribal differences, noting, “My experience made me appreciate the cord of love that binds us together as Edolites irrespective of our political, religious, or tribal divides.”

Dr. Aziegbemi concluded with a prayer, expressing hope that no one else would have to endure such a traumatic experience.

The statement from Dr. Tony Aziegbemi reflects not only gratitude for the support received but also a reaffirmation of unity and resilience in the face of adversity within the Edo people.
