In a move aimed at reinvigorating governance and enhancing service delivery, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reshuffled his cabinet, dismissing five commissioners.

Truth Live News can confirm that this development, announced on Tuesday by the governor’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, reflects the administration’s commitment and resolve to addressing emerging challenges and strengthening the machinery of government.

The commissioners affected by the reshuffle are: Dr. Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education; Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; Comrade Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication; Professor Simon Madugu Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture; and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to the state’s development. He acknowledged their instrumental roles in advancing key policies and initiatives and wished them success in their future endeavors.

“This cabinet reconstitution is a strategic effort to inject new ideas and energy into governance,” Gidado said. “It is a routine measure aimed at ensuring the administration remains effective in meeting the needs and aspirations of the people.”

As part of the reshuffle, Governor Mohammed has forwarded a list of eight nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for approval.

The nominees, representing various local governments, are: Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde (Toro), Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau), Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Dass), Usman Usman Shehu (Shira), Iliyasu Aliyu Gital (Tafawa Balewa), Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa), Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Darazo), and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro)

The reshuffle comes as Governor Mohammed, who has served as the governor of Bauchi State since 2019, continues efforts to deliver impactful development and improved welfare for the state. Known for his administrative experience as the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and a former senator, Mohammed has taken significant steps to address socio-economic challenges in Bauchi.

Bauchi State, located in northeastern Nigeria, was created in 1976 and has a history of leadership changes aimed at advancing its development. This reshuffle aligns with a common practice among Nigerian governors to periodically reassess their executive councils to optimize governance.

Observers note that the governor’s decision to inject new blood into the administration demonstrates his resolve to align state leadership with current realities. As the new nominees prepare for confirmation, residents of Bauchi State will be watching closely to see how this shake-up translates into tangible progress for the state.

This cabinet reconstitution is not only a statement of intent but also a strategic move to bring fresh perspectives to governance, reflecting the administration’s drive to meet the needs of its people.
