Bendel Insurance Football Club, and Edo Queens FC both of Benin city Edo state, will be unveiling their new set of jerseys for 2022-2023 Football Season on Wednesday, January11,2023.
The jerseys unveiling ceremony fixed for 2pm, will take place at the new Festival Hall,Government House,Benin City. Edo state.
Invited guests, players, and officials of the state owned teams and their supporters are expected to be seated by 1.30 pm.
Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki and the speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt Hon Marcus Onobun are special Guests at the ceremony while the state Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu who also doubles as the chairman of the two clubs is the host.
Some other personalities expected at the ceremony are the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Sterling Bank chairman Mr Asuen Ighodalo, and the CEO Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Engr Adeleke among other guests.
It would be recalled that Bendel insurance fc gained Promotion to the Nigeria top flight league (NPFL) after finishing top of Group B1 of the Nigeria National league (NNL) for 2021/2022 Football season before going ahead to win the overall Trophy of the NNL Super Four tournament held in Yenegoa the Bayelsa state capital.
Meanwhile, Edo Queens currently lead the pack of the Nigeria women Football League ( NWFL) Premiership Group B with 12 Points after Five rounds of matches.
The state Government owned teams remain the best Nigeria club sides in terms of welfare and others, as they are the first and only teams in the Nigeria Football League that give away their playing jerseys after every match.
