Bereaved Former House Of Rep Member Receives C’River Sports Commissioner On Condolence Visit

The immediate past House of Representatives member for Calabar-South, Akpabuyo, Bakassi federal constituency Rt. Hon. Essien Ayi, has received the Cross River State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, on condolence visit.

Ayi who is the current Chairman of the Cross River State Football Association, was recently bereaved of his son through a fatal motor accident.

As a sports enthusiast he expressed great joy for the condolence visit and the prospect of collaboration with the sports Commissioner.

Ayi also identified several key areas for immediate action, including facility upgrades, training programs, and the organization of local football events.

The CRSFA Chairman further informed Hon Atsu, about how his past attempts to engage with the government to explore potential funding opportunities and sponsorships to bolster the development of football at all levels.

He commended the Commissioner’s dedication to promoting sports within the state while expressing optimism to work hand in hand with her towards achieving common goals.

Through their shared grief and determination, Commissioner Atsu said that her intention for the visit was not only to console him for the tragic loss of his son but also to strengthen the partnership between the state government and the football association.
