Lucky Obukohwo Reporting
It was a black Sunday on February 2nd 2025 in Ondo State, following the death of 30 persons in an auto crash that occurred at Onipetesi, along the Lagos/Ore expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The ugly incident has been confirmed by the Ondo State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Samuel Ibitoye.
He said preliminary investigation showed that one of the vehicles drove against traffic.
However, the FRSC hinted that two survivors are already receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
He further promised that the agency will embark on a thorough investigation into the accident with a view to unravelling the detailed causes.
It was learnt that 28 persons were burnt beyond recognition in the accident, while two others died while being taken to the hospital for treatment.
Sources who do not want their names in print said that the accident occurred when two commercial buses had a head-on collision and burst into flames.
The identities of the two vehicles involved in the accident could not be ascertained, just as the victims could not be recognised.
