Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface is eager to make his debut appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The 22-year-old is anticipated to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Cote d’Ivoire.

Expressing his enthusiasm, the striker mentioned his anticipation of representing his country in the biennial competition.

“It is every Nigerian football player’s dream to represent their country and bring home a trophy,” Boniface shared with DW.

“So, we’re looking forward to the next AFCON.”

Having made his Super Eagles debut in September against Sao Tome and Principe, the former Union St Gilloise star has showcased impressive form for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the BayArena this summer.

Boniface secured his eighth league goal of the campaign in Die Werkself’s 1-1 home draw against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.

Cote d’Ivoire is set to host the 2023 AFCON finals from January 13 to February 11.

The Super Eagles find themselves in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
