The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda from Plateau State, North Central Nigeria as the new National Chairman of the party.
Yilwatda, 59, who was the APC 2023 Gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State has emerged as the national chairman of the party in a consensus agreement by the party stakeholders to move the position to North Central.
At the ongoing APC NEC meeting, Governor Hope Uzodinma moved a motion recognizing the North-Central zone as the rightful region to produce the party’s National Chairman.
The motion was swiftly adopted, leading to the emergence of Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as the consensus APC National Chairman.
Truth Live News gathered that the announcement and presentation of the new National Chairman of the party was made at the ongoing FEC meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
