Former Chelsea Player and Ghanaian professional footballer, Christian Atsu has been confirmed dead and his body recovered in the rubble of the Earthquake that struck Turkey since the news was first reported February 6th.
Recall that Truth Live News had reported that the rescue teams have been in search for the professional player who plays for Turkish Super Lig Club, Hatayspor and two other staff that were reported to have been trapped in the rubble.
According to BBC reports, the agent, Nana Sechere confirmed his death and that his body was recovered earlier this morning, Saturday.
He said, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning.”
The quake which happened in Turkey had reportedly claimed the lives of 5000 persons and thousands critically injured.
The quake is reported to be the worst earthquake to have happened in that region for the past 100 years.
Atsu dies at the age of 31.
