Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represented the Rivers South East Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate and served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, has passed away in London.

The news of his death emerged yesterday, though the official cause has not been publicly disclosed.
While details remain scarce, sources close to the senator, including an Instagram blog “cutiejuls’” indicate that he had been battling cancer for some time. Given this, it is widely believed that his death may be linked to his ongoing illness.

Senator Mpigi was a respected figure in Rivers State politics and in the Senate, known for his legislative contributions, particularly in the area of infrastructure and public works. Tributes from colleagues, constituents, and political associates are expected to follow as the nation mourns the loss of the lawmaker.
