Breaking: Tinubu Appoints Ex-Ekiti Governor Fayose to Lead Rural Electrification Agency

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved 26 new appointments across 10 key agencies, with Ayo Fayose, former Ekiti State governor and prominent opposition voice, named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to boost power access in underserved areas.

The appointments also include new leadership for the National Salary and Wages Commission, Revenue Mobilisation body, National Population Commission, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, and others in agriculture, atomic energy, and housing, all taking immediate effect to advance the Renewed Hope agenda.

The move signals potential political bridging, as an APC administration taps a known PDP figure, drawing reactions ranging from views of pragmatic deal-making to suggestions of regional favoritism in Nigerian governance.
