Former House of Representatives member, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, has formally flagged off his campaign for the Edo South Senatorial District seat after presenting his Certificate of Return at the palace of the Oba of Benin and receiving the royal blessings of the revered monarch.
The symbolic palace visit marks a significant milestone in the political journey of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, whose emergence has continued to generate excitement across Edo South, particularly among youths and grassroots supporters.
Ogbeide-Ihama recently emerged victorious in the APC Edo South senatorial primary election, defeating incumbent Senator Neda Imasuen and former Edo governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in a keenly contested exercise.
During the palace visit, the former federal lawmaker proudly displayed his Certificate of Return before the Oba of Benin, while supporters described the royal endorsement as a strong moral boost for the campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sources within the campaign said the APC candidate remains committed to youth empowerment, inclusive representation and grassroots development across the seven local government areas of Edo South.
“The movement is gaining momentum; it’s youth o’clock for Edo South,” supporters declared shortly after the palace ceremony.
