IBEDC Confirms Abduction of Two Staff Members in Ogun

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc has confirmed the abduction of two of its staff members in the Ogun region.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the company’s management on Monday, May 4, 2026, and made available in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to the statement, the employees were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

“Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) confirms that two of its staff members in the Ogun region were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026,” the statement read.

The company expressed concern over the incident, noting that its thoughts are with the affected staff and their families during the difficult period.

“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time,” it added.

IBEDC said it is working closely with relevant security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted workers, while also maintaining contact with their families and providing necessary support.

“Given the sensitive nature of this incident and ongoing efforts to resolve it, we are unable to provide further details at this time,” the statement said.

The company appealed for understanding, stating that updates would be provided as appropriate while efforts continue to ensure the safe return of the victims.
