Two members of a 10-man armed robbery gang have been apprehended inside a hotel in Benin City following a swift security operation after they allegedly stormed the Ugbor area and dispossessed residents of their belongings.
The suspects were tracked and apprehended at the hotel shortly after the robbery, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining members of the gang.
The robbers stole assorted IPhones, Samsung phones, many laptops, one Jbl speaker, a power bank and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Many of the stolen items were recovered from the arrested gang members inside the hotel.
Those arrested were identified as Mustapha Haruna, and Abdulahi Abdulraman.
Edo State Police command image maker, Eno Ikoedem, said policemen attached to the Ugbor police station embarked on manhunt and tracked the suspects to the hotel after the incident was reported.
Ikoedem said investigations were still on-going, adding that efforts were on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
