Shock in Lagos Community Over Gruesome Death of Grandmother

A tragic incident has shocked residents of Lagos State after an elderly woman was found dead in a bush in the Badagry area.

The victim, identified as Victoria Adegoke and believed to be in her 60s, was discovered early Friday morning in the Oke Egan community, Ilogbo-Eremi. Locals say she had attended a church programme earlier in the week and was returning home when she was reportedly attacked.

Community sources indicated that she was found without clothing, and there were signs suggesting she had been assaulted and killed before her body was abandoned. Personal items, including her ATM card and Bible, were recovered nearby, while her phone was missing.

Residents described the incident as deeply disturbing, especially given the woman’s age. Some noted that the area has a history of criminal activity and expressed concern about recurring violent attacks.

The matter was reported to the authorities, and the Nigeria Police Force is expected to investigate and track those responsible. As of the time of reporting, police officials had not issued an official statement or confirmed any arrests.

The incident has heightened fears within the community, with many calling for improved security and protection for residents.
