Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has openly criticized Osun State Police Commissioner CP Mohammed Abba for his handling of the political crisis enveloping the state.
The unrest in Osun State, where Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, holds office, has seen tensions flare between factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The conflict intensified as former local government chairmen, ousted by court decisions, tried to forcibly regain their positions.
During a recent press conference, Governor Adeleke called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene, accusing his Minister, Gboyega Oyetola, of orchestrating the use of security forces to reinstate the dismissed officials. He stressed the importance of pursuing legal channels for redress rather than resorting to violence.
The situation reached a boiling point on Monday, February 17, 2025, when gunfire was reported at various local government offices as the sacked APC chairmen attempted to retake control, met with resistance from PDP supporters.
In response, Davido used his X platform to voice his frustration with the police’s role, accusing the commissioner of neglecting legal standards.
“Mr Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!! Make we all kuru mad!! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post you every day everywhere, Mr man!!! Try me, fucker,” Davido posted on X.
He further escalated his attack in another post, stating, “Mr Umar Abba, Osun State Commissioner, you are a disgrace to your children!!! Game on, FUCKER!!!! All of us go mad together!! Werey!!! Mr Commissioner, we die here.”
