DELTA STATE, NIGERIA – Delta State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme, has addressed the controversy surrounding a query letter issued to a student at the School of Nursing, Agbor.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Dr. Onojaeme confirmed that he had directed the school’s provost to withdraw the letter.

“The trending letter that was issued as a query to the student of the School of Nursing, Agbor, has been withdrawn. I have instructed the provost to do so,” he stated.

The commissioner emphasized that the state government has no intention of victimizing any student. He also reassured the public that the affected student had confirmed receiving the withdrawal of the letter.

“We have also reached out to the student in question, and she has confirmed that the letter was withdrawn last night,” Dr. Onojaeme added.

He further warned the public to be cautious of misinformation and fraudulent activities, stating, “I want the public to be aware that there are scammers everywhere. We are not victimizing any student.”

The situation had sparked reactions online after the query letter surfaced, prompting concerns over the treatment of students at the institution.

Truth Live News had earlier reported that a student nurse at Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, is under investigation for allegedly posting an unauthorized video on social media during an official event attended by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

In an official query dated March 27, the college’s provost, Mrs. Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, stated that Edobor’s actions constituted a “malicious act” and violated the student handbook.

“This is a punishable offence under standardized disciplinary action for some offences listed in the handbook,” the query read.
