Dr. Peter D’Rock Uwaibi, representing the diaspora support group for Ighodalo/Ogie, has reaffirmed the unflagging commitment of Nigerians in the diaspora to the electoral mandate of Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Dr. Imasuen Ogie.
Accompanied by PDP chieftain Ambassador Cedrac Odion Okpebholo, Dr. Uwaibi visited Edo State in a show of solidarity with Dr. Ighodalo, whose detailed developmental blueprint has received commendation for its potential to transform the state in record time.
Truth Live News reports that Dr. Ighodalo has pledged to drive Edo’s economic growth with an ambitious plan to position the state as a model of sub-national development in Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the diaspora, Dr. Uwaibi registered the need to reject individuals who incite violence and disrupt public order, describing such tendencies as obstacles to progress, equity, and societal stability.
He stated that patriotism should reflect a commitment to the people’s welfare, guided by intellectual foresight and constructive actions.
Dr. Uwaibi further called on Nigerians, particularly Edos, to discard the culture of celebrating mediocrity and unmerited wealth, warning that such attitudes undermine the state’s potential for growth and development.
He stressed that Edo must embrace modern governance and align with global standards to achieve lasting progress.
Highlighting the manifesto Path to Prosperity, Dr. Uwaibi noted that the Ighodalo/Ogie vision aligns seamlessly with the aspirations of the people, promising a brighter future for Edo State.
He urged calm and patience as efforts to reclaim the mandate through the judicial process continue, affirming that the fight for justice remains steadfast and resolute.
Dr. Uwaibi concluded with a crystal clear message that the diaspora stands firmly on the September 21, 2024, mandate and remains hopeful for its restoration.
