In a robust show of confidence, Rt. Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele, JP, Director of Operations for the Edo Central Senatorial District Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), affirmed the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Thursday evening, Edionwele stated that the PDP is united and poised for victory.
Addressing members of his strategic team, Edionwele emphasized the commitment of the Senatorial Campaign Council to secure a win for the PDP in Edo Central.
“With our robust campaign strategic team, we are still consulting and building a strong structure to ensure our message of hope, character, capacity, and the competence of our party’s candidate, Barr. Asue Ighodalo, reaches every corner of the district,” he said.
Addressing rumors of mass defections from the PDP, Edionwele, who is also the Chairman of the Ighodalo Movement for Edo People (TIME) Board of Trustees, clarified, “Those who left the PDP had already been playing anti-party. The good news is that our candidate’s impressive credentials have attracted many from the APC, LP, and other parties to the PDP. We have more people working with us secretly than those who have openly joined. The leadership of the Labour Party and Accord Party has already collapsed their structures into our party.”
Edionwele emphasized the widespread support for the PDP candidate, stating, “The awareness in the senatorial district is high, and the Esan people are united behind our candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo. We are presenting our best, and the Esan people are making a conscious choice. We are in this race to win.”
Highlighting the PDP’s legacy of good governance and commitment to delivering democratic dividends, Edionwele expressed confidence in their ability to provide quality leadership. “We are optimistic about our ability to deliver quality leadership on behalf of the people. We are confident of victory at the polls,” he said.
