For fans of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), it was thrilling to see the significant shift in Orhionmwon’s political landscape. The departure of prominent figures from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to join the PDP in Ward 7 and 8 is a substantial blow to the APC’s stronghold.
Former leaders like Hon Wilson Ogieva and Elder John Uhunwangho, along with several others, leading their followers to embrace the PDP signifies a powerful endorsement. Their decision reflects a dissatisfaction with the APC’s governance, as expressed by Hon Wilson Ogieva’s analogy of a road no longer passable.
The big name defectors were Former Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon Wilson Ogieva, Elder John Uhunwangho A.K.A Uroy, Hon Sunday Iyamu, Hon Osaretin Osaroyal, Chief BDK, among others, led their thousands of followers to embraced the umbrella party, PDP in Urhonigbe.
In their welcome address, Urhonigbe North and South Apex leaders, Hon Tony Otasowie and Mr Osaze Odemwingie, who spoke in unison appreciated the defectors for joining the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The enthusiastic welcome by PDP leaders buttressed the party’s unity and readiness to accommodate new members. It’s evident that the PDP is poised for electoral success in Urhonigbe North and South, with these additions strengthening their support base.
The assurance from PDP officials regarding equal rights for all members demonstrates a commitment to fairness and inclusivity within the party. Overall, this move bolsters the PDP’s position and sets the stage for a competitive political landscape in Orhionmwon.
