The kinsmen of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo have come down heavily on the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for peddling a false information that their illustrious son candidacy has been nullified by the court.
They said Asue over the years has continued to identify with the plights of the down trodden in his community in Ewohimi with the provision of basic amenities without making noise about it, noting that they are excited that he is running for the office of the governor and are ready to reciprocate his kind gesture by voting for him and his deputy.
They also said attempt by the APC candidate , Sen. Monday Okpebholo to discredit Asue with false narrative over Asue’s community service and philanthropic gesture was triggered by imminent fear of defeat awaiting the APC in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
An indigene of the community, Mr Odion Samson, said the people are proud of Asue’s track record of achievements in private sector and in governance which stands him tall above any other candidates and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the ship of the state to prosperity and development.
Another residence of the community, Mrs Ailodin Itolo, said Asue remains a beacon of hope and succour to many people in the community by providing and supporting developmental projects including the provision of scholarship to students among others.
“What Asuelime did for us, only God will bless him. I went to his compound to cry for help and he assisted me and my family. Now I can eat and talk.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, he also helped the community. He shared enough food stuff. It was more than three trucks that he brought to this village and they were filled with food stuffs, we all prayed for him to be victorious in the September 21 governorship election.
“I enjoin every one of us to please vote for him and his running mate, because they have come to help Edo State”, Itolo said.
They however vowed to deliver block votes for their son in the September 21 governorship poll.
