Martial Arts Legend Chuck Norris Dies After Illness

Chuck Norris, the legendary martial artist and Hollywood actor, has passed away at the age of 86.

According to a statement released by his family, Norris died peacefully in Hawaii on March 19, 2026, following a recent hospitalisation, surrounded by loved ones.

The family described him as more than just a global icon, highlighting his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. They also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans worldwide while requesting privacy during this period of mourning.

“To the world, he was a symbol of strength. To us, he was the heart of our family,” the statement read.

Born in Oklahoma in 1940, Norris began his journey in the United States Air Force before rising to prominence as a martial artist, earning multiple black belts across disciplines including karate, taekwondo, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

He gained international recognition after starring alongside Bruce Lee in Way of the Dragon in 1972, a role that helped launch his successful acting career.

Norris went on to feature in several blockbuster films and television series, including Missing in Action, Delta Force, and Walker, Texas Ranger, cementing his legacy as one of the most iconic action stars of his generation.

His death comes just days after he marked his 86th birthday with a video showing him boxing, joking that he doesn’t age but “levels up.”
