Mayowa Lambe Demands ₦100 Million from Estranged Husband Over Alleged Defamation

Mayowa Lambe has issued a formal legal demand seeking ₦100 million in damages from her estranged husband, Roby Ekpo, over allegations of defamation and harassment.

The dispute escalated after Lambe recently remarried in the United States, a development that drew public attention due to her prior marriage to Ekpo in 2015. The separation between the two had not been publicly confirmed before news of her new marriage emerged.

Tensions intensified following comments made by Ekpo on a podcast, where he discussed issues in the relationship and made claims regarding personal disputes during their marriage. Lambe has strongly denied the allegations.

In a letter issued by her legal representatives on April 22, 2026, Lambe stated that the marriage was mutually dissolved on May 11, 2025, and that no legal or marital relationship exists between them.

She accused Ekpo of spreading false and damaging statements across media platforms, arguing that his remarks were intended to harm her reputation and attract public attention.

Her legal team further stated that she possesses documentation supporting her claims, including records relating to financial contributions, relocation efforts, and joint fertility-related medical engagements during the relationship.

The letter demands that Ekpo immediately stop making further statements, remove any existing content considered defamatory, issue a public retraction and apology across the same platforms, and pay ₦100 million in damages within three days.

Failure to comply, the notice warned, would result in legal proceedings.
