In a historic first victory at Old Trafford, Bournemouth defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League thanks to a brilliant start from Dominic Solanke.
In ten prior home games, United had never fallen short against the visitors. However, United was unable to rally when Andoni Iraola’s team took the lead five minutes in when Solanke casually backheeled Lewis Cook’s cross into the goal for his ninth goal of the year.
Even though United put up a lot of resistance, Bournemouth ended up winning the game for the fourth time in five games because to two fantastic headers from Marcos Senesi (73′) and substitute Philip Billing (68′).
After a masterfully orchestrated counterattacking display, the visitors deserved it all. Dango Ouattara, a visiting replacement, had a fourth goal cruelly disallowed for a VAR handball ruling in extra time after the ball bounced off him and onto home goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Despite having played one extra game, United and Tottenham are still in sixth place in the standings with 27 points apiece, while the visitors climb to 13th place with 19 points.
