In a monumental event set for Wednesday, June 12, 2024, former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, accompanied by his wife, Patience Jonathan, will arrive in Edo State to commission the newly constructed, state-of-the-art Edo State Secretariat.
This architectural marvel, built under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, marks a significant milestone in the state’s infrastructural development.
The ceremony, scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM, will see Dr. Jonathan laying the foundation stone for a 1,500-capacity auditorium. This facility is expected to host major state events and conferences, further positioning Edo State as a hub for national and international gatherings.
Simultaneously, the former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, will lay the foundation stone for the crèche building within the Secretariat complex. This initiative Obaseki government’s commitment to supporting working parents and ensuring that children have a safe and nurturing environment close to their parents’ workplace.
The Edo State Government has expressed great enthusiasm for the commissioning, highlighting it as a testament to the administration’s dedication to fostering development and enhancing the state’s public service infrastructure.
