“I Was Bounced Out” — Osimhen Shares Humbling Super Eagles Experience

Victor Osimhen has shared a personal story from his early days with the national team, revealing how he was once turned away from a teammate’s hotel room during his first call-up in 2017.

Speaking during a livestream, the Super Eagles striker now playing for Galatasaray explained that he had gone to visit Kelechi Iheanacho out of respect. At the time, Iheanacho was a rising star at Manchester City.

However, when Osimhen knocked on the door, he was reportedly met by Iheanacho’s roommate, who refused him entry.

Osimhen chose not to reveal the identity of the player but noted that the individual was a well-known figure in Nigerian football at the time. According to him, the situation changed quickly when Iheanacho discovered what had happened.

The forward said Iheanacho was upset and immediately stepped in, bringing him into the room and correcting the situation.

The incident dates back to 2017, a formative period in Osimhen’s career before he rose to become one of Africa’s most prominent strikers.

Now established at the top level, Osimhen’s story highlights the contrast between his early struggles and his current status in football, while also shedding light on dressing-room dynamics and hierarchy within national teams.
