Jeff Stelling Backs Arsenal to Retain Premier League Title

Sky Sports veteran Jeff Stelling has backed Arsenal to retain the Premier League title, describing Mikel Arteta’s side as the team to beat ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Stelling said Arsenal enter the new campaign as clear favourites, arguing that their closest rivals have not strengthened enough to overtake the North London club.

The Gunners begin the new season after winning the 2025/26 Premier League title, finishing ahead of Manchester City and Manchester United.

Arsenal also reached the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final, where they were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain.

Arteta has further strengthened his squad during the current transfer window as the club aims to challenge for both domestic and European honours this season.

Speaking to talkSPORT on Monday, August 3, 2026, Stelling said Arsenal remain the strongest contenders for the Premier League crown.

“For me, the challengers are not getting stronger.

“So at the moment, Arsenal, for me, are the clear, clear favourites in terms of the Premier League, but it’s a question of what they can do in Europe as well,” he said.
