Lucky Obukohwo, Reporting

Mr. Festus Alenkhe, Chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has been made the Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

The appointment places him at the helm of the state-owned broadcast organisation, where he is expected to provide leadership and oversee its operations in an acting capacity.

The appointment was approved by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, following the redeployment of the immediate past Managing Director of EBS, Mr Suleiman Aledeh, to the Edo State Orientation Agency as its pioneer Director-General.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Umar Musa Ikhilor, the government said Alenkhe would oversee the operations of the state-owned broadcast station pending the appointment of a substantive managing director.

The statement noted that the governor’s decision formed part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring effective service delivery across key sectors of government.

The government commended Aledeh for his contributions to public broadcasting and expressed confidence in Alenkhe’s ability to sustain operational efficiency and professional broadcasting standards at EBS.
