RENL Champions Safety, Integrity At 2026 HSE, Ethics Day

ARAROMI – Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger culture of safety, integrity, ethical conduct and inclusion across its operations as it marked its 2026 Health, Safety, Environment and Ethics (HSE/Ethics) Day at the company’s Araromi Site.

Held under the theme, “Safety First, Integrity Always,” the event brought together members of top management, employees and key stakeholders for a renewed call to make safety, ethical leadership and responsible conduct the foundation of everyday operations.

The celebration underscored RENL’s resolve to move beyond compliance by embedding safety and integrity into its organisational culture and decision-making processes.

Participants reflected on the shared responsibility of creating a workplace where every employee is empowered to prioritise safety, uphold ethical standards and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

The Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, who was physically present at the Araromi celebration, reaffirmed management’s commitment to putting people first while sustaining the highest standards of integrity throughout the company’s operations.

His presence and message reinforced RENL’s position that operational excellence must go hand-in-hand with the protection of employees, environmental responsibility and unwavering ethical conduct.

The Human Resources Manager and other members of the top management team were also present at the event.

In his address, Odoukou stressed that safety must go beyond compliance with workplace procedures and should become a personal commitment shared by every employee.

He noted that every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of each working day and urged employees to approach every task, regardless of how routine, with safety as a priority.

The Managing Director highlighted RENL’s continued investment in employee training, personal protective equipment, risk assessments and safe work practices.

He stressed that no production target should take precedence over the health, safety and wellbeing of employees.

Odoukou also reminded employees that RENL’s responsibility for safety extends beyond the workplace to dependents, families and surrounding communities.

He encouraged employees to consider the wider impact of their actions and ensure that safety remains a priority both at work and at home.

Adding colour and depth to the celebration were presentations and interactive sessions on gender equality, inclusion and respect in the workplace.

The discussions emphasised the importance of equal opportunities, mutual respect and creating an environment where employees of all genders can contribute meaningfully without discrimination or harassment.

The event also provided a platform for employees to deepen their understanding of ethical decision-making, accountability and the importance of speaking up whenever unsafe or unethical practices are identified.

The 2026 HSE/Ethics Day celebration at Araromi further demonstrated RENL’s commitment to fostering a workplace where safety is everyone’s responsibility, integrity is upheld without compromise, and respect, inclusion and ethical conduct remain at the heart of its operations.
