No Second Chance For Bandits, “They” Must Be Eliminated, Says Sani

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has urged a tougher stance on banditry, saying armed groups involved in killings and kidnappings should be regarded as terrorists and dealt with accordingly and decisively.

He said the level of violence inflicted on communities by bandits leaves no room for leniency or second chances.

He pointed to the killing of civilians and the abduction of women and children as justification for stronger action by security agencies against the groups.

“Bandits are terrorists,” the governor said. “I don’t believe they deserve a second chance because, in my opinion, they are terrorists.”

According to him, anyone who deliberately takes lives and destroys communities cannot be regarded as deserving of leniency.

“When you call them terrorists, it means they are people who have killed innocent citizens.

“Certainly, they have no right to live; they must be eliminated.”

The governor maintained that the government must prioritise the protection of law-abiding citizens, insisting that those involved in terror attacks should face the full force of security operations.

“A terrorist is a terrorist. He can kill, he can destroy and, as such, should be killed,” Sani said.
