Israeli Strikes Kill Three In Gaza, Test Fragile Ceasefire

At least three Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Strip, raising concerns over the stability of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Health officials said one person was killed and two others injured in an airstrike on the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Truth Live News International learnt from the Reuters that in a separate attack, the head of the Hamas-run police force in Khan Younis, Wessam Abdel-Hadi, and his aide were also killed.

The Israeli military said it targeted militants engaged in “suspicious” activities and posing an immediate threat to its forces. It added that the strikes were aimed at members of Hamas involved in planning attacks.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions despite a ceasefire reached in October 2025, which has been repeatedly violated by both sides. Israel and Hamas have continued to blame each other for breache of the truce.

Violence has persisted in the Gaza Strip, with near-daily strikes reported since the ceasefire took effect. Local medics say at least 850 Palestinians have been killed during this period, while Israel reports that four of its soldiers have died.

Witnesses described scenes of destruction in Khan Younis, where the strike left a vehicle completely destroyed. Mourners gathered to bury the victims, accusing Israel of targeting security personnel to destabilise the region.

The latest escalation underscores the fragile nature of the ceasefire, with fears that continued hostilities could derail efforts to maintain peace in the region.
