In a significant development in the ongoing political tension in Edo State, Hon. Collins Aigbogun, popularly known as “Abuja,” Kingsley Osehon, and several other members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have been granted bail. The detainees were held in connection with charges related to their involvement in recent violent political activities ahead of the upcoming election in Edo.
Their release has been met with widespread celebration among PDP supporters, who have interpreted the bail as a victory over what they perceive as attempts by opposing forces to stifle their campaign. Chants of “Power pass power” echoed through the streets as loyalists vowed to double their efforts ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday.
PDP leaders have called on all members and supporters to mobilize, using their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to “shame” the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls. They maintain that “Federal might” will not influence the outcome of the election in Edo State, urging voters to turn out in large numbers to defeat the APC.
