The Supreme Court has fixed Friday, January 12, for the judgment of the appeal filed by the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf challenging the ruling of the Court of Appeal.
This was disclosed by a notice issued by the apex court to all the parties in the suit on Wednesday.
According to the notice, the court directed that each party should not have more than two lawyers in attendance.
Truth Live News had earlier reported that the appellate court affirmed the verdict of the tribunal that sacked Governor Abba Yusuf and declared the candidate of the APC, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, as the authentic winner.
While the supporters of NNPP have continued to fault the Appeal Court ruling, which was against the incumbent governor, the APC supporters continued to hail judgment which favoured their candidate.
In reaction to the apex court statement, the secretary of the legal team for the NNPP, Barrister Bashir Tudun Wuziri, confirmed that the apex court had fixed Friday for the ruling.
“Yes, it is officially confirmed. They have told us to appear on Friday for the judgment.
“They told us that each party should not have more than two counsels in attendance.
“This, they said, is because they will be delivering seven judgments on that same Friday,” he said.
