Kidnappers have demanded a whooping sum of N250 Million ransom for the release of the retired Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Recall that Truth Live News had reported the abduction of the ex-NYSC chief on Wednesday night from his residence in Katsina State.

The attack occurred when numerous armed men besieged General Tsiga’s home, leading to a confrontation after they began breaking down doors. “The retired general stepped outside to face them,” an unnamed source close to the family told Daily Trust.

Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, a federal lawmaker representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency, confirmed the ordeal, noting, “The attackers took control of the premises before taking General Tsiga away.”

Security forces are actively engaged in efforts to locate and rescue General Tsiga. However, there have been no public updates from security agencies on the progress of these operations.

The family was contacted by the kidnappers on Friday, with the ransom demand made explicit. “They demanded N250 million,” the source disclosed, speaking under the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.

The abduction of such a high-profile figure has reignited concerns over the security situation in the region, prompting calls for swift action to ensure the general’s safe return.
