In a somber turn of events, the esteemed Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, has passed away.

The unfortunate demise occurred at approximately 4:30 am in a Lokoja hospital, marking the end of a chapter for the local leader.

Hon. Muhammed was swiftly transported to the hospital after collapsing at his residence, a distressing incident that unfolded late Thursday evening. Reports suggest that the chairman, actively engaged in a series of political meetings in preparation for Saturday’s governorship election, succumbed to unforeseen circumstances.

A family source revealed that the late chairman was urgently taken to Shifa Hospital in Lokoja after the incident. Regrettably, doctors confirmed his clinical passing at 4:30 am on Friday, casting a shadow of sorrow over the community.

Hailing from Ward B in the cantonment area of Lokoja, Hon. Muhammed will find his final resting place at the Unguwan Kura Muslim cemetery following the Juma’at prayer on Friday.

Sympathizers, gripped by the news of his sudden departure, were observed gathering at his family house in the cantonment areas of Lokoja on Friday morning, offering condolences and shared grief.

Survived by his mother, wife, and children, Hon. Muhammed leaves behind a legacy that touched the lives of many in Lokoja. Talba Lakwaja, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja, officially confirmed the incident through a statement, informing the public of the scheduled burial arrangements.

“This is to notify the general public that the remains of the Lokoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Dasebe Mohammed, will be buried at Anguwan Kura burial ground at 2 pm immediately after Jummat prayer. The body will depart his family house at cantonment to Lokoja Central Mosque by 1:30 pm,” conveyed Lakwaja, marking a solemn farewell to a dedicated public servant.
