Popular Nigerian billionaire businessman, Francis Van-Lare, has offered Comfort Emmanson, an all-expenses-paid trip to Doha, Qatar, and Istanbul, Turkey.
Recall that Commy as she is popularly called, is the Ibom Air passenger who recently went viral over an in-flight altercation, where she was stripped a bundled out of the aircraft by airport officials. In a post on Facebook, Van-Lare, popularly known as “Poi Master,” said: “Breaking News, Poi Master offers Ibom Air passenger a free trip to Doha in Qatar and Istanbul, Turkey.”
The incident wherein Ms. Emmanson gained national attention ensued on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10. This led to her arrest and brief detention at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre before she was released on the directives of the federal government after an uproar by Nigerians.
Van-Lare’s gesture has prompted widespread reactions on social media, with some users praising what they describe as a “shame to fame” turnaround, while others questioned his motive.
Other benefactors have offered to help the now popular passenger. A logistics company executive has reportedly presented her with an iPhone 16 Pro Max to replace the one damaged during the altercation, alongside a four-year brand ambassadorship deal.
