An anonymous message sent to Ma Rita, a social media support group administrator, has gone viral after a 16-year-old pregnant girl pleaded for financial assistance to deliver her first child abroad.
In the message, the teenager revealed that her boyfriend had denied responsibility for the pregnancy but said that was not her main concern. She explained that she had “always dreamt of delivering my first child abroad” and appealed for someone to sponsor her trip and medical expenses outside the country “so as to fulfill my dreams.”
The post, shared on Ma Rita’s anonymous message channel, quickly spread across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X, generating thousands of comments and shares. While some social media users expressed sympathy and offered prayers, others criticized the request as unrealistic, given her age and circumstances.
On X, one user wrote, “This is heartbreaking, she needs counselling and support, not just sponsorship.” Another commented, “Sixteen and already thinking of birth tourism? We have bigger issues to address.”
Ma Rita, known for running an online community that offers emotional support and advice to women, especially single mothers, has not publicly disclosed whether she has reached out to the girl.
