The Edo State Chapter of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria has announced plans to intensify its grassroots mobilisation efforts across the country in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The Edo State Coordinator of the group, Mr. Idiake Patrick, said Relax would strengthen its outreach programmes to take the Tinubu administration’s policies, programmes and achievements directly to Nigerians, particularly those at the grassroots level.
According to him, several initiatives of the administration had not received adequate publicity or gained sufficient public awareness, making it necessary to intensify efforts to inform citizens about the government’s programmes and policies.
Patrick highlighted infrastructure development, student financing, tax reforms and the distribution of increased revenues to states and local governments among the areas he said Nigerians should be made more aware of them.
He also lauded the administration’s decision to remove fuel subsidy and redirect resulting revenues to the different tiers of government.
According to him, the group would complement the activities of other pro-Tinubu support groups, including City Boy Movement and Renew Hope, while mobilising what he described as genuine grassroots support for the President.
Also speaking, the Edo State Women coordinator of the group, Marie Olabisi Idaomi, said women, farmers and other grassroots stakeholders would form a major part of Relax’s mobilisation efforts.
Idaomi pointed to the student loan programme as one of the initiatives she said could resonate with Nigerian families, arguing that mothers would be motivated to support the President because of opportunities created for their children.
She also highlighted the participation of farmers in the group, saying farmers were among those who could benefit from policies of the administration.
Idaomi further drew attention to local government autonomy, describing it as an opportunity for citizens to hold local government chairmen and councillors accountable for development.
She said Relax was established with the aim of taking its message to communities across the 774 local government areas of Nigeria.
She also commended the administration’s economic and financial reforms, arguing that President Tinubu’s background in accounting, finance and revenue administration had influenced his approach to managing the country’s finances.
