AKWA IBOM, UYO – The President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, has expressed his condolences over the passing of Pa Edwin Clark, describing him as a towering statesman and a guiding light in Nigeria’s history.
In a social media post, Akpabio praised Clark’s lifelong dedication to justice, national unity, and the development of Nigeria.
At 97, Clark served in various capacities, including as a councillor, federal minister, and political advisor.
He was a strong advocate for the Niger Delta, equity, and resource control, always speaking truth to power.
Akpabio acknowledged Clark’s personal support for him and reflected on their last interactions before his passing.
Extending condolences to Clark’s family, the people of Delta State, and all Nigerians, Akpabio affirmed that Clark’s legacy will remain a beacon of hope and courage for future generations.
