“Set Up Akara Business for Your Family First” — Lawyer Tackles First Lady Remi Tinubu

Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has sharply criticised First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu over her recent advice encouraging Nigerians to engage in small-scale businesses amid economic hardship.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Effiong urged the First Lady to demonstrate confidence in her recommendation by establishing such businesses for her own family members and women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Senator Remi Tinubu should first set up Corn, Akara and Kuli Kuli business for some members of her family and the APC women leaders. It will encourage other Nigerians to venture into the same business,” he wrote.

“Since she believes that with such ventures, one can make enough money to feed, pay house rent, pay school fees and solve other basic needs.”

Effiong went further to accuse President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady of poor leadership.

“A family where the husband and wife are wicked and greedy shouldn’t be allowed close to the presidency of a country. Bola Tinubu and Remi Tinubu are very vicious and extremely dangerous,” he stated.

“The unborn generation of Nigerians will not forgive the present generation for allowing wicked people to hold this country down,” Effiong added.

The remarks come as debates intensify over the government’s economic policies and public suggestions on coping with rising living costs.
