Liverpool attacker Alexis Mac Allister has disclosed Argentina’s determination to win matches without relying heavily on Lionel Messi.
Following his goal in Argentina’s 3-1 victory over Costa Rica in an international friendly, Mac Allister spoke on the team’s collective effort and resilience in Messi’s absence.
In an interview with ESPN, Mac Allister stated the need for Argentina to strengthen as a team, acknowledging that Messi’s presence often instills fear in opponents.
“We know that when Leo is not there, we have to become even stronger because we don’t have that player who can save us when things go wrong,” Mac Allister stated.
He further stressed the team’s objective to make opponents apprehensive, asserting that Argentina aims to provide formidable opposition even without Messi.
