Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in a daring early morning raid, attacked Mayo Kila, a village close to the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The assailants abducted four individuals, one of whom is a medical professional from Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.

According to intelligence sources that revealed to Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad Region, the kidnapping took place around 1:30 a.m. on February 17, when the village was invaded by heavily armed men who quickly took their victims into the mountainous regions along the border.

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, noting that a distress call was received at approximately 3:30 a.m., leading to an immediate deployment of security forces.

“Upon receiving the report, operatives visited the scene, and a joint team of police officers and local hunters has been deployed to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of the culprits,” a police source stated.

Further, the command has engaged its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to conduct a thorough and discreet investigation. Security measures have been bolstered with increased patrols in the region to thwart any potential future attacks.
