Aisha Rimi has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) by President Bola Tinubu.

Hailing from Katsina State in Northern Nigeria, Aisha Rimi has a diverse background and has made significant contributions to her community and the legal profession.

She is a founding partner at Africa Law Practice (ALP), a prominent commercial law firm in Nigeria, where her leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the firm’s success.

In addition to her legal career, Aisha is involved in philanthropy and is a founding member of the Halal Children’s Orphanage, an institution dedicated to supporting orphaned children.

Her commitment to this noble cause reflects her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

Aisha’s academic journey includes obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a specialization in International Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham. She later earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from the same institution, equipping her with a strong legal foundation and expertise.

Aisha Rimi’s career began at Ajumogobia & Okeke, where she spent a decade honing her legal expertise.

She also worked briefly as a visiting attorney at Chadbourne & Parke. In 2007, she founded Rimi & Partners, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, she merged with other accomplished legal professionals to establish Africa Law Practice (ALP Legal or ALP), a continental law firm with a global reach.

Within ALP, Aisha specializes in foreign investment and regulatory compliance, offering expert counsel on project finance, corporate joint ventures, and various commercial legal practices.

She is also a board member of several distinguished organizations, demonstrating her commitment to contributing her expertise to diverse sectors.

Aisha Rimi’s career is marked by adaptability and a desire to make a lasting impact in the legal field and business.

Her philanthropic efforts extend through her firm, where she leads a pro bono program for victims of domestic abuse, and as a founding member of the Halal Children’s Orphanage, her dedication to uplifting communities and individuals is evident.

Aisha is married to Folorunsho Coker, the chairman of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation.

Her appointment fits her profile , gives us another young , competence and vastly experienced woman from the north. This much needed balance serves as a foundation and catalyst for future power successions.
