BENIN CITY – The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged Governor Monday Okpebholo to use his 56th birthday as an opportunity to further strengthen his administration’s support for workers and deepen its cordial relationship with the organised labour movement.
The appeal was contained in a goodwill message issued by the Edo NLC in Benin City to celebrate and felicitate with the governor on his birthday.
The message, signed by the Chairman of the Edo NLC Caretaker Committee, Prof. Monday Lewis Igbafen, described the governor’s new age as a time of renewed vigour, youthful energy and greater capacity to provide transformative and people-centred leadership for the people of Edo State.
The council also expressed optimism that Governor Okpebholo’s continued engagement with organised labour would foster greater cooperation and contribute to improved welfare and working conditions for workers across the state.
The Council conveyed the warm felicitations and heartfelt birthday wishes of the entire Edo State workforce to the Governor, praying for sound health, wisdom and divine guidance as he continues to steer the affairs of the state.
“On behalf of the entire workforce in Edo State, we wish His Excellency sound health, wisdom, and divine guidance in this new age and always,” the statement said.
The NLC urged Governor Okpebholo to leverage the goodwill and joyous atmosphere surrounding his birthday to give urgent attention to pressing issues affecting workers in the state, while consolidating the harmonious relationship between government and labour.
The Council also commended the Governor for his steadfast commitment and relentless efforts toward the development and progress of Edo State.
The Edo NLC wished Okpebholo greater accomplishments in the years ahead, praying that his new age would bring continued good health, prosperity and many more years of fruitful service to the state.
