In what appears to an admition of utter failure of the ruling party by its ranking member, Sen Dayo Adeyeye, chairman, South West Agenda for Asiwaju, SWAGA, the regional body of support group for the candidacy of Bola Tinubu as All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, has admitted that there is hopelessless in the land, encapsulated by the N77 trilllon debt owed by the country.

Adeyeye, though not seeing the irony of such admittance considering that Tinubu, his principal is key stakeholder in bringing about an APC government in the last seven years, said that Asiwaju is the only man imbued to solve the problem.

Under the ruling party, the national debt owed has swelled to N77 trillion.

By implication and by per capita, each Nigerian, put at about 210 million, may have to pay at least N350, 000 each to creditors to offset the debt.

But Adeyeye insists that such challenges amounts to nothing for an extraordinary leader of which Tinubu ranks as one, according to him.

According to him speaking in Ilorin at a special prayer organised by SWAGA in collaboration with other support groups, Tinubu’s antecedents have demonstrated that he is a man born to take up challenges.

“It is always in times of difficulty that we need a great leader who can turn things around.

“This is the time when you need Asiwaju as president.

“When things are easy and rosy, you don’t need that much a fantastic leader.

“When things are bad, when hope is lost, when you need a leader to bring you out of debt, to take you to a higher level, that is when men like Tinubu are called for.

“This is actually the time when Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu is needed to steer the ship of state to a safe harbour,” he said.

Sen Adeyeye also allayed fears of possible emergence of cabal around the APC presidential candidate if he emerges as president, saying that no cabal can exist alongside a Tinubu government.

“I must confess that I only hear about this so called cabal but I have never seen it around Tinubu.

“How can that exist where all Tinubu wants is those who can work and deliver,” he asked.
