Wilfred Ndidi, Nigeria and Leicester City midfielder, has dismissed notions of competition among the Super Eagles midfielders.
Speaking ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa, Ndidi praised his teammates for their excellent performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which he missed due to injury.
Regarding competition, he stressed, “It’s not about competition; we complement each other. When one player is absent, the team doesn’t suffer. We work together for the good of the team and the nation.”
The midfielder drew an analogy with a military barracks, where soldiers come and go, but the barracks remains steadfast.
