The Concerned Stakeholders of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, have commended the university’s Governing Council, led by Chief Dan Orbih, for facilitating the construction of internal road networks within the institution by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Festus Imonsili on behalf of the group and released to journalists in Benin City.
The statement said the road project, regarded as a major infrastructural intervention, is expected to significantly improve transportation, accessibility, and the overall learning environment on the campus.
The group described it as a testament to the council’s proactive leadership and commitment to the growth and modernization of the institution.
The statement noted that the successful collaboration between the university’s governing council and the NDDC reflects a strategic effort to attract developmental projects capable of enhancing academic activities and improving the welfare of students and staff.
It noted that the project is also seen as part of broader initiatives aimed at repositioning Ambrose Alli University as a leading centre of academic excellence and infrastructural development in Nigeria.
The statement said the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Chief Dan Orbit has done well by using his wide political links to engineer the infrastructure development of the University.
“History has it, at least in the last two decades, as the only Pro- Chancellor that has used his wide political links to uplift the infrastructure of the university.
“Today, even the blind can notice the massive road construction taking place in the university”, the statement added.
The statement hailed the ongoing construction of the internal roads within the institution and described the development as a significant step towards improving the infrastructure and overall environment of the university.
The statement urged the Council not to relent in its avowed commitment to reposition the university.
“We are also convinced that it will extend to other areas, soonest”, the statement maintained.
