Lucky Obukohwo, Reporting

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a daring operation that culminated in a fierce gun battle with suspected kidnappers.

According to police sources, the rescue mission was carried out at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The operation led to the safe recovery of the victims, who had been held captive since their abduction earlier in the week.

The coordinated effort by security operatives forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives, paving the way for the victims’ rescue without loss of life.

Mrs. John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and her 12-year-old twin sons were reportedly abducted around 7:30 a.m. on June 3 while on their way to school.

According to security sources, police operatives embarked on an intensive manhunt, deploying actionable intelligence and coordinated tactical operations to track down the kidnappers.

The sustained security crackdown eventually led to the suspects being cornered, triggering a confrontation with law enforcement officers.

During the exchange of gunfire, two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two firearms were recovered from the scene.

The victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their family.

Security agencies have launched a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate believed to have escaped during the operation.

Investigators suspect some of the fleeing suspects may have sustained gunshot injuries.

The police are yet to issue an official statement outlining the full details of the rescue operation, including the identities of the suspects involved and the exact location where the victims were freed.

The incident has attracted widespread public attention due to the victims’ ties to former Minister of Power, a prominent political figure.

Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified the hunt for fleeing members of the kidnapping gang, as efforts continue to bring all those connected to the crime to justice.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with a focus on uncovering and dismantling the broader criminal network behind the abduction.
