Desmond Elliot, the lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, appears to be making a return to Nollywood after losing out in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
The actor-turned-politician’s return to the screen emerged after photos of him on a movie set with renowned Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta surfaced online.
The images captured Elliot and Chatta on location, sharing a moment during what appeared to be an ongoing film production.
The development has sparked renewed interest among fans, as Elliot seems to be reconnecting with his acting roots while continuing his political career.
Several social media users have expressed excitement over the possibility of seeing Desmond Elliot back on screen after years away from Nollywood while serving as a Lagos State lawmaker.
The veteran actor-turned-politician recently suffered a setback in his political journey after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Surulere Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Elliot, a three-term lawmaker, was defeated in the party’s primary election by Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who secured a commanding victory with the majority of votes cast.
Before entering politics, Elliot built a successful career in Nollywood, becoming one of the industry’s most recognisable faces. However, he has yet to officially address reports of his return to filmmaking following the APC primary loss.
