Lamido Snubs El-Rufai’s Invitation to Join SDP

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has rejected Nasir El-Rufai’s invitation to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Lamido described the invitation as an insult, stating that the PDP, which he helped form, laid the foundation for El-Rufai’s political career.

In a BBC Hausa interview, Lamido questioned El-Rufai’s motive for dumping the APC for the SDP, and criticized his leadership style.

Lamido who reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, said the party has done nothing to warrant his defection.

Truth Live News recalls that El-Rufai had appealed to opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rauf Aregbesola, to join the SDP.

However, Lamido made it clear that he will not be leaving the PDP, saying “You’re not enough to make us leave the PDP.”
